Varanasi is one of the oldest living cities in the world, contemporary of Thebes and Babylon. It is also one of the holiest Hindu cities and still thriving on its religious past. Morning we do a tour of Varanasi visiting the Durga Temple, Tulsi Manas Temple & Benares Hindu University. Afternoon excursion to Sarnath, a place where Buddha preached his first lessons on Nirvana. Here we also visit the local museum with its interesting collection of Buddhist artifacts.
